Alex Turner has spoken about the crazy year of success endured by Arctic Monkeys, and that it still hasn't distracted him from writing more songs.
Speaking to Uncut magazine Turner said: "I can’t stop writing songs, I don’t know what else I’m going to do."
He also admitted that the new album will not carry the tempo that debut record-breaking album "Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not" did, adding that some may even be played acoustically:
"I’ve written quite a few slower ones- there’s 13 or 14 songs, maybe a few more, in different states."
Laurence Bell, head of Domino Records has already heard one of the new songs, which Turner named "Brain Storm": "Very bright and metallic – it’ll shock a few people." is what Bell had to say about the track.

why do bands that make it big with an up-beat "tempo-ish song, always turn to the slower songs on the following record? Don't get me wrong, the monkeys knows what their doing with the slow and more quiet songs, but the speedy songs are the arctic monkeys trademark afterall. I NEED MY ROCK AND ROLL GOD DAMN IT ;-)
