| BRIT Awards Acceptance Speech | ||
 We Are Scientists front man Keith Murray was surprisingly the man who accepted the "Best British Breakthrough Act" award at the 2006 BRIT Awards, won by Arctic Monkeys.The awards took place on 15 February and saw Arctic Monkeys claim their first ever BRIT gong. However, the band were playing at Portsmouth as part of the NME Awards Tour and so were unable to attend the ceremony. Therefore, a pre-recorded message was broadcast, which showed five people present - all four Arctic Monkeys and fellow tourmates We Are Scientists' very own Keith Murray - most likely as a prank and to cause confusion as Murray continually mentioned "We" during the acceptance. This, though, was not spotted by the camera crew who turned up to film the comedic speech, all of which was spoken by Murray and included: "We're awash with emotion, we're aghast." Meanwhile, the band sat and remained silent, except for bursting into hysterics at the clearly-sarcastic quotes made by Murray. Click Here For the Video |
