Arctic Monkeys Make History at NME Awards |
|
Arctic Monkeys tonight (Feb 23) were the first ever band to take the NME award for both "Best New Band" and "Best British Band".
As well as these two awards, the band won the award for "Best Track" which was given for the band's debut single "I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor".
Much anticipated were the band's reactions to the awards, and in all fairness and and as probably expected they weren't that bothered, though they did manage to thank the fans.
By the third award, the lads were sick of speaking and so who better to join them on stage than We Are Scientists' lead singer Keith Murray, never failing amuse the star-filled crowd.
The awards also saw a "surprise" performance from Sugababes who performed - you guessed it - I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor. |
