At least someone is not following the crowd. The Arctic Monkeys are not too bad but this hype is just stupid. Front page and the rest, they were heroes before a debut - come on, let's get sensible!

One more thing... Is it really good for a young band to be under such pressure? Can they be bigger than this? Even if they are better? For me, at least this over-the-top media reaction destroyed them. Every time they get praised I get sick. Fortunately, partly because of them Franz Ferdinand lost some media attention, that was another quite-ordinary band pushed by music critics and Radio 1.

i love the monkeys, but they are so hyped and over-rated!!

btw, i just saw arctic monkeys on snl and they looked and sounded very nervous. then in the middle of their second song, alex pointed out in the crowd and said "that man is yawning." they kind of came off as spoiled brats but i think they just remembered why they don't do TV shows. the crowds are just so weak.

I love the Arctic Monkeys for their really original sound and their catchy lyrics. They definately have the potentials of being a good rock band. The only thing about them that bugged me was their SNL performance. Was it me, or did Alex have his back to the audience half the time? I think they were really nervous, and they should get over that.
