'Arctic Monkeys Make Me Feel Awkward' - Noel Gallagher |
|
Oasis genius Noel Gallagher has confessed that the young age of Arctic Monkeys puts him off a little.
Speaking about the band's frontman Alex Turner, he said:
“I like him, I do, and he is definitely a bit of a genius lyricist, but he is still a kid.
“He was eight when ‘Definitely Maybe’ came out. What the fuck am I, a 38-year-old supposed to say to that? They make me feel awkward.”
Speaking about his own band (Oasis) Gallagher mentioned that his band were no longer as big as they once were:
“What bothers me right now is that we are not the biggest band in the world any more.
“U2, The Stones even Coldplay are bigger than us.”
After doing research, we would like to remind everybody that Noel Gallagher is 38-years old, not Liam Gallagher. This statement was made by Noel Gallagher. |

I think he should just keep his mouth shut about this subject. He prime has past, the sun has set on his glory days. I feel that Alex has already written lyrics that are far better than Oasis ever dreamt of putting together. I just can't wait to see where Alex is at when HE is 38, surely not sulky like a scumbag.

Arcitc Monkeys are good but 'better lyrics than Oasis' i don't think so. Remember Defintely Maybe

Oasis were never about the lyrics
It was more than just that
It was the music, the attitude etc.
And Noel always sulks, but DBTT proves that they still have some great years ahead of them

Yes, He is quite young but Noel should realise that he can still come up with great lyrics even though he's young.
It's called having talent.
Oasis is definatly getting old.

i read this today, he also said he likes the fact that they are normal northern lads, that they dont take ages finding the perfect outfit for gigs, with blazers and all that. they take 10 minutes, wear what they nromally would. he respects that (he says).personally i think appearance is a big factor, you aint gonna go on in your yfronts and a vest... wait, thats quite a good idea...

hey I dont know if this is old news or anything but I just wanted to tell you that the arctic monkeys played "who the fuck are arctic monkeys?" at the Paris gig this tuesday. I dont if its the first time they played it live just wanted to let you know.

Arctic Monkeys have only been big for a few years. I think they will be equal to Oasis when they have realeased at least 4 classic albums like Oasis. The problem with Arctic Monkeys is, granted they are brilliant, but they are getting too big before their time.

for thoes comparing which lyrics are better (noel's) or (alex turner's) You cannot compare which are better for they are 2 different styles of writting. Alex is straight out with what he ssees and or experiences, where noel uses a way to actually make you think and reflect on what he wrote kinda...even though he has stated in an interview once that he doesnt even know what he writes about when he writes it.

and for what Kat said about the arctic monkeys possibly being equal to Oasis' stardum in a couple albums....i think that can be true if only they find a way to evolve there sound...they arnt going anywhere if they stay with this same sound, it will get doll although i think its incredible right now. Oasis' style isnt something that has to evolve much because its been around for so long, thats why they can keep out pumping out stuff changing it abit and people will still love it, they get away with it...if arctic monkey's next stuff sounds exactly the same, people might get bored and this might end up just being another fab like the spice girls (just thinking of something to compare to)

I love Oasis and The AM aren't too bad, but the AM aren't gonna be around in 14 years time. They'll do at least 2 more albums and then no one will care anymore.
