INCLUDING AT LEAST ONE VERSION OF "LEAVING BEFORE THE LIGHTS COME ON" We apologise dearly for the lack of actual content updates over the past week or so. Therefore, we're making it upto you by launching a HUGE amount of content right now. First of all, we've updated the SCANS section with content from lots of different magazines, including NME, Zoo Weekly and HotPress. The second lot of multimedia for you all is our WALLPAPERS page, which has finally been launched due to popular demand. Hopefully the wallpapers will be updated regularly and feel free to SEND US your own designs. We have stacks of new MP3's for you to download in our MUSIC DOWNLOADS section, which includes the following: - NME Awards Tour, Dublin Ambassador, 23 January (includes "Leaving Before the Lights Come On") - NME Awards Tour, Bristol Academy, 13 February - Arctic Monkeys Live at The Forum, Sheffield (very old and rare gig) - Canal Plus Session (French TV Station Performance) We have also fixed the MP3s from Amsterdam Paradiso as they were slightly distorted, so they should be working fine now. | Arctic Monkeys Team Up With Tourmates | ||
 Last night saw the 2006 NME Awards Tour come to a sensational end, as members of Mystery Jets, We Are Scientists and Arctic Monkeys join forces to play some cracking renditions at London's Brixton Academy.The teamwork started when Mystery Jets were joined by members of We Are Scientists during their set which started the sold-out Brixton crowd off. The second helping was Arctic Monkeys front man Alex Turner playing lead guitar for We Are Scientists during their track "Cash Cow", only to have the favour returned by We Are Scientists' singer Keith Murray, during "Fake Tales of San Francisco". If the fans had thought they'd seen it all then they were far from wrong. During the Arctic Monkeys final track of their 50 minute set "A Certain Romance", they were joined by members of both other bands, resulting in nine people on stage. All of this and Maximo park hadn't even been on yet! Apparently cameras were present at the show, along with BBC Radio 1 DJ and MTV presenter Zane Lowe, so rumour has it that the show could be shown on MTV2 in March. |

| BRIT Awards Acceptance Speech | ||
 We Are Scientists front man Keith Murray was surprisingly the man who accepted the "Best British Breakthrough Act" award at the 2006 BRIT Awards, won by Arctic Monkeys.The awards took place on 15 February and saw Arctic Monkeys claim their first ever BRIT gong. However, the band were playing at Portsmouth as part of the NME Awards Tour and so were unable to attend the ceremony. Therefore, a pre-recorded message was broadcast, which showed five people present - all four Arctic Monkeys and fellow tourmates We Are Scientists' very own Keith Murray - most likely as a prank and to cause confusion as Murray continually mentioned "We" during the acceptance. This, though, was not spotted by the camera crew who turned up to film the comedic speech, all of which was spoken by Murray and included: "We're awash with emotion, we're aghast." Meanwhile, the band sat and remained silent, except for bursting into hysterics at the clearly-sarcastic quotes made by Murray. Click Here For the Video |

| Modfather Huge Fan of Powerful 'Monkeys | ||
 Ex Jam front man and legendary Modfather Paul Weller has revealed he is also a huge fan of Arctic Monkeys - and he loves their attitude.Arctic Monkeys have did everything their own way and when they turned down appearing on Top Of The Pops to play either of their two number one singles, "I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor" and "When The Sun Goes Down" Weller said: "[They've] fucked off loads of people. They have done it on their own terms. "Fucked off Top Of The Pops and done their own thing. It's powerful." The legendary Modfather was last night awarded a special Brit Award for his own "Outstanding Contribution To Music". |

| Arctic Monkeys win Best British Breakthrough Act | ||
 It's official - Arctic Monkeys are the Best British Breakthrough Act of 2006.With strict competition from the likes of the Magic Numbers, Kaiser Chiefs and James Blunt, Arctic Monkeys were obviously shocked to receive the award. According to brits.co.uk: "We're awash with emotion, we're aghast." they wibbled. The awards took place today (Feb 15) and will be broadcast in the UK tomorrow at 8pm on ITV1. Arctic Monkeys are currently in Portsmouth as part of the NME Awards Tour, and were therefore unavailable to accept the award in person. A pre-recorded message (apparently controversial) was shown. |
