Fake Tales in Top 20 Songs of the Year |

The Sunday Times has named the top 20 pop songs of 2005 with Arctic Monkeys' "Fake Tales of San Francisco" being named amongst 19 other great tracks.
The track was released as an EP in May 2005 and contained "From The Ritz To The Rubble" as a b-side. Here is the review of the single:

The Sheffield newcomers delivered a mighty slap to poseurs everywhere on their delightfully shambolic punk-ska debut. One word-of-internet chart-topper later, those same poseurs are now flocking to the Monkeys, who may spend most of 2024 trying to escape their embrace.

Arctic Monkeys Are Technophobes |

The Arctic Monkeys have confessed that they have no idea how to use a computer.
The boys gathered a large following after their demos and live tracks appeared online, but drummer Matt Helders reveals that they are technophobes.
He told the Daily Star, "When we went to No.1 we were on the news about how the internet had helped us - the perfect example of people who don't know what the f*** they're talking about."
