Arctic Monkeys on MTV2 |
|
UPDATE: The videos are available for download here.
Just a reminder to everyone that Arctic Monkeys will be appearing on TV tonight (Mar 1) as footage from the 2024 NME Awards Tour will be broadcast exclusively to MTV2.
The live performance is from the final date of the NME Tour which took place at London's Brixton Academy in February, along with fellow Tourmates We Are Scientists, Mystery Jets and Maximo Park. The show ended up being the one to remember from the NME Tour and luckily MTV recorded the performances, which included a nine-man rendition of "A Certain Romance" after members of Mystery Jets and We Are Scientists joined the Arctic Monkeys on stage.
The show will be on MTV2 tonight at 9pm and hosted by Zane Lowe. But don't worry if you can't make it as the show will be repeated this Friday (Mar 3) at 11pm. |

Joe Cole "wants" Arctic Monkeys World Cup Anthem |
|
Could England's official World Cup 2024 anthem be a one by the Sheffield foursome, Arctic Monkeys?
Probably not, but England and Chelsea midfielder Joe Cole would absolutely love it.
In an interview with MTV, Cole said:
“I’m listening to Richard Ashcroft and Arctic Monkeys at the moment,” said Cole.
“I think Arctic Monkeys are a fantastic new band. I’m playing in my car.”
MTV: "So they’re in your car Joe, but how’s about having the Arctics recording this summer’s England song for their World Cup campaign?"
Cole: “Wow, I don’t know, maybe! You never know. I’m sure whoever does it will do a great job.”
Now, MTV did admit this wasn't an exact request by the midfielder and wrote the following:
Now while we recognise that this isn’t strictly a wholehearted plea by Joe Cole; it’s enough to get a campaign going. Come on Monkey boys - do it; do it!
...Shut up MTV. |

Lisa Moorish Hits on Alex Turner |
|
It seems Lisa Moorish can't get enough of rockstars since she's reportedly into current sensation and Arctic Monkeys front man Alex Turner.
Lisa is a 34-year-old mother of two, with kids to Liam Gallagher and Pete Doherty. Now it seems she wants to bed our own beloved Alex Turner, after trying to get it on with him at the NME Awards.
As reported by The Sun, an onlooker said:
“It was obvious Lisa was on the prowl. She was all over the kid - but she's nearly old enough to be his mother.”
“Lisa wrote her number on a scrap of paper and forced it on Alex, telling him to ring her. He went red and shoved it in his pocket.”
Come on, Alex isn't that desperate. |
