Andy Nicholson Leaves Arctic Monkeys |
|
This is a sad day in the world of music.
from arcticmonkeys.com...
We are sad to tell everyone that Andy is no longer with the band.
Nick O’Malley, who stood in for Andy while he was absent from the recent tour of North America, shall carry on playing bass for the remaining shows this summer.
We have been mates with Andy for a long time and have been through some amazing things together that no one can take away. We all wish Andy the very best.

Last Night These Two Bouncers... |
|
Desperate to have a drink on their current US tour, Arctic Monkeys have had to resort to Fake IDs to get into bars and clubs across states.
According to the Daily Star, guitarist Cookie said:
"We've all had to buy fake ID cards for ourselves off a couple of students at one of our gigs. It's either that or don't go out and get stuck in, which isn't really on."
"We've got away with it so far and no one's questioned us at the bar, even though the pictures on them don't look like us at all".
Something like this then, eh?

Crouch Looking Good on The Dancefloor |
|
So I'm sure we can guarantee you've all seen (and are probably practising) the infamous Robo-Crouch celebratory dance. Here at Mardy-Bum.com we were looking for an excuse to post about this historic milestone when suddenly... we didn't need to.
According to most of the English press, Crouch's Robot was inspired by Arctic Monkeys' 'I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor' and when he first performed the dance at the Beckhams' Pre-World Cup Party, it was during the song and more exact, to the line 'Dancing to electro-pop like a robot, from 1984'.
Since then, Crouch did the robot after he scored the winner for England against Hungary earlier this week and then did it the following day in front of the whole squad (and a someone called Prince Harry) whilst training.
SPREAD THE WORD.

Arctic Monkeys Play Secret Pub Gig With New Bassist |
|
Arctic Monkeys last night played a 10 song, 40 minute set in front of a full 120 capacitated 'Old Blue Last' London pub.
The secret gig was to introduce new temporary bassist Nick O'Malley who (as reported earlier) will be gearing up to take the place of Andy, who is taking a well-deserved rest throughout the North American tour.
And as if we didn't already know, Turner confirmed during the gig that the band's summer single will be Leave Before The Lights Come On'.
He said:
"We're going to play our new single for you now. It's straight out of the hit factory. This is our summer hit, watch out for it."
Reports suggest the band played well, and they apparently would have played on longer, had it not been for their demanding curfew.
The setlist ran:
'The View From the Afternoon'
'Still Take You Home'
'You Probably Couldn't See For The Lights But You Were Looking Straight At Me'
'Perhaps Vampires Is A Bit Strong But..'
'Dancing Shoes'
'Cigarette Smoker Fiona'
'Leave Before the Lights Come On'
'I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor'
'Fake Tales Of San Francisco'
'A Certain Romance'
