'Arctic Monkeys Make Me Feel Awkward' - Noel Gallagher
|
|
Oasis genius Noel Gallagher has confessed that the young age of Arctic Monkeys puts him off a little.
Speaking about the band's frontman Alex Turner, he said:
“I like him, I do, and he is definitely a bit of a genius lyricist, but he is still a kid.
“He was eight when ‘Definitely Maybe’ came out. What the fuck am I, a 38-year-old supposed to say to that? They make me feel awkward.”
Speaking about his own band (Oasis) Gallagher mentioned that his band were no longer as big as they once were:
“What bothers me right now is that we are not the biggest band in the world any more.
“U2, The Stones even Coldplay are bigger than us.”
After doing research, we would like to remind everybody that Noel Gallagher is 38-years old, not Liam Gallagher. This statement was made by Noel Gallagher. |

Frequent visitors to the site should notice we've updated the design slightly. Hopefully it should retain the same feel as we've used the same colours and general layout as the last one, just revamped it a little.

April on Mardy Bum
|
|
Normally we wouldn't post about this kind of thing, but April has been a phenomenal month for us here.
During April, we served over 100,000 unique visitors in excess of 3 terabytes of bandwidth (thats 3000 gigabyes) of media. We also delivered over 5 million hits and over 1 million pageviews.
Our growing success is thanks to high profile media companies who have linked to us in someway or another, such as NME and XFM.
We would like to send our appreciation to all of the visitors here, and to everyone on the official Arctic Monkeys forum.

What You Get For Singing About Bouncers
|
|
According to The People, Alex Turner was turned away from a bar in the Arctic Monkey's hometown of Sheffield.
After being asked for ID at The Cavendish Bar and not having any, Turner was forced to try elsewhere.
An onlooker said:
"Alex is one of the most famous people in pop but he and drummer Matt Helders had to queue," an onlooker told The People. "When they got to the front, the bouncer grabbed Alex and said, 'How old are you, mate?' He told them he was 20 but the bouncer said, 'I don't believe you - you got any ID?'
"Alex said, 'I don't need ID. I'm Alex Turner. I'm the lead singer of the Arctic Monkeys.' The bouncer said, 'I don't give a toss, you don't look 18 and you need ID.' Alex eventually moved on but he wasn't happy."
